All incoming raw materials, whether bar steel, mold base plates or core pins
and mold components are inspected and certified upon arrival at our facility.
At Jepson Precision Tool we utilize both CNC controlled and manual controlled
EDM machines with automated tool changers.
Our CNC Milling department uses 3D technology to do parametric machining and
hard-milling of mold bases, cavity inserts and components using Surfcam
software for true "art-to-part" accuracy and repeatability.
We have in-house CNC Turning available with the ability to hold very precise tolerances
in both conventional and hard-turning applications.
Finish grinding at Jepson Precision Tool is a standard. We finish grind all
critical and final dimensions. All tool builds are verified for accuracy
using our calibrated measuring systems, Mitutoyo CMM and ceramic gage blocks
for final inspection. As a side note, we record and validate every steel
dimension we manufacture. In addition, we have several independent
inspection sources if your project requires this service.
After completion of machining, polishing and inspection, your mold will be
carefully assembled and bench tested prior to sampling.
Throughout the entire process, Jepson Precision Tool’s scheduling department
uses an in-house shop floor control and project management system to help
ensure the on-time delivery of your tooling. We utilize Microsoft
Project and submit detailed weekly reports throughout the entire manufacturing
